So I think I have a starting point. I think that the best way to start the Jabberwocky name is to start small and online. Most bakeries deal in clientele that are within the local commuting distance. This has nothing to do with anything accept logistics. But the internet reaches everywhere, if you can provide a service to them all, then you might just make a big enough niche to wiggle in. I think that my niche will be mailed baked goods.
We have embarked on a new world. In the past the only people that you knew were people who lived in your area. You were born in the same town that you went to school in. At that point you got a job and never left. You raised your family and then you died. Afterwards your family buried you in the same cemetery that your great grandmother was buried in. But in today's day and age that is no longer the case. Your family is now spread over several states and cities. So how can you enjoy a nice baked pastry with your loved ones? By ordering a baked good and having it shipped to them. Jabberwocky Bakery, bringing the kitchen table to your loved ones.
The idea is this. Cupcakes aren't really transportable very easily. So bake them in mason jars. This allows them to be shipped much more easily. The cupcakes sold with entail both the mundane, a plain vanilla bean with a plain chocolate frosting, to the exotic, I'm thinking a pumpkin pie cupcake would be delicious. All made from scratch and shipped to the person of your choosing. The jars themselves would have a spoon tied with a ribbon around the neck, and a sticker proclaiming the Jabberwocky Bakery with a website. With every order we double our potential customer base. Along with this will be cookies and muffins which are much more easily shipped. I'm also thinking of dabbling in cake pops to ship those I would poke them into the green Styrofoam blocks you find fake flowers in.
